Her credentials include a degree in Local Government Administration from Central Michigan University and certification from the U.S. Army Management & Engineering College.Kathy has also owned a local bagel shop in the area giving her a unique perspective to relate to small business owners in a slow economy. In addition Kathy has shown dedication to the community while serving as a volunteer and President of the Washington Elementary Parent Teacher Organization and chairperson of the school’s Playground Committee. As a consultant to large Michigan corporations, Kathy honed her skills as a speaker, trainer and facilitator, conducting numerous seminars and workshops on the topics of productivity, strategic planning and organizational change. Why Am I Running for Clerk of Washington Township?Over the years, I have become concerned about some areas of the township literally being overlooked by the current Washington Township Board of Trustees. I want to change that. The entire township should be managed as a whole - no areas overlooked.What I Plan to AchieveI am a problem solver, planner and communicator. With the downturn in our economy, the Township needs to be leaner and more efficient. My background will help identify waste and develop plans to eliminate or reduce costs without decreasing the function or service. These skills will be key in the budget process and daily operations.In addition I plan to improve communication between the people and the Township. Right now, communication is in the form of an internet posting on the Township website or through the Romeo Observer. Residents seem to find out about issues too late when they must rely on a weekly publication or an internet website.
