Dan O'Leary's Background

Dan O'Leary was born in Brooklyn, New York where he lived until 1978. He has lived in Macomb County ever since. The O'Leary's came to love the Washington area after many years of visiting local orchards and festivals and eventually planted their roots in Washington in 2003.

Education and Certifications

Wayne State University, 1987, Bachelor of Sciences in Business Administration (Accounting concentration)

Professional

Dan's professional career has includes over 20 years with a large Michigan utility company. He experience includes:

  • Operations Director
  • Director of Midstream Marketing
  • Director of Quality and Codes
  • Controller
  • Director of Corporate Development
  • Director of Finance

    In addition, Dan was a Certified Pubic Accountant and has experience in financial management, strategic planning, field management, organization, goal setting, litigation, contract negotiations, process improvement and leadership of diverse teams.

  • President - North Macomb Association for Planned Growth
  • Treasurer - Carriage Hills Homeowners Association
  • 2005: - Successfully negotiated between residents and developers, a reduced density residential development.

    Why Am I Running for Washington Township Supervisor?

    I chose to live here for the same reason that lifelong residents remain here. Washington is a beautiful area and a unique community blending history, farms and homes for a special place to live. I believe government is about community service. Leaders should involve and respond to the community, the residents, the businessess, the organizations, and they should reflect community values and interests, not their personal ones. As the township grows and changes, whether those changes are positive or negative will depend on whether we have the leadership who understands how to serve this community.

    What I Plan to Achieve

    I will help YOU, the residents and businesses of Washington Twp., to maintain what you love so much about our area. I will encourage residents to be involved by providing them with a leadership team that will listen and respond to their concerns. Working together we can help Washington have BOTH a character of its own AND a place amongst the surrounding communities. I look forward to working with you.
