Karam’s Mayfair Development Races Toward Approval!
 
Please be advised that the Mitchell E. Karam Corporation's proposed 500 acre development at 32 Mile and M53 by the is scheduled for public hearing on October 2nd, 2008 at 7:30 pm at Washington Township Hall 57900 Van Dyke
 
• The proposal is higher density than is typical for Washington Township.  It will have 759 single family homes, some as small as 1,000 square feet on lots as small as 45 by 100 feet.  It will also have 641 multi-family units.  The residential portion is proposed to be built out at a density of approx 8.5 units per acre and the single family areas at a density of approx. 4.5 units per acre. 
• It has roughly 900,000 square feet of commercial. 
• There is a proposal to reserve space for a medical complex and hospital.  It will be developed in multiple phases with the developer determining which phase goes first. 
• There is a possibility that this development will get pushed through prior to the new board is in office on November 20
 
What you need to do:
ATTEND THE PUBLIC HEARING ON OCTOBER 2, 2008 at 7:30 pm at Township Hall.
An informed community is needed to assure that proper planning and the identification of potential impacts to our community infrastructure (roads, water, sewer, schools) ,citizens and our neighboring communities are addressed before the Mayfair Development is approved by Washington Township.
